Sardinia. More than an island, a continent

Grape varieties such as Vermentino, Vernaccia, Cannonau, Bovale, Carignano, Malvasia, Monica, Nasco and Torbato are among the most famous in Sardinia. Spread on the island since 1300 B.C., viticulture is still the main tree crop in the region. According to several studies, Cannonau is one of the oldest wines of the Mediterranean.

If the Italian oenological school has perfected itself over the centuries with the motto 'wine is made in the vineyard,' Sardinia, with its richness of cultivated varieties, is one of the best-equipped Italian regions from this point of view. Even more so because the large quantity of grape varieties present is expressed in over 50 geographically indicated wines, among DOC, DOCG, and IGT. From the perspective of wines, Sardinia is more than an island; it is a continent, with an incredible production in terms of quality and variety, thanks to the diversity of microclimates andpedological characteristics of the territory.

These are wines suitable for every pairing, from great reds like Carignano to sweet wines like Vernaccia nobile, including the whites of Gallura and more. Considering that, compared to such a rich offer, so far few wineries have established themselves beyond regional borders, must the best wines still be discovered?
