The Italian agri-food sector is no longer just a matter of turnover and flavors, but an ecosystem increasingly focused on social sustainability. At Tuttofood 2026, the international food and beverage fair, the Consorzio Italia del Gusto transformed this commitment into concrete reality, presenting an initiative that places autonomy and talent at the center: the new food truck created in collaboration with PizzAut, the famous pizzeria founded by Nico Acampora that employs boys and girls with autism.
Beyond the product, the social value of food
Officially donated by Consorzio Italia del Gusto, the food truck immediately began operating among the fair's pavilions on May 12. Here, the PizzAut boys and girls prepared excellent pizzas for visitors, demonstrating that work is the main tool for integration and personal growth.
The initiative perfectly responds to the guidelines of the Food Manifesto of Tuttofood, a document that interprets food as a social, cultural, and economic value. In this context, businesses are called not only to produce quality, but to build a more inclusive and responsible food system, where diversity is not an obstacle but a wealth to be valued.
A concrete synergy
‘The collaboration with PizzAut represents a project we feel deeply. Food is part of our identity and our daily work and can also become a space for growth. With the food truck, we want to contribute to creating new opportunities', says Giacomo Ponti, President of the Consorzio Italia del Gusto.
For Nico Acampora, President of PizzAut, this new operational vehicle represents a fundamental step forward towards independence: ‘For autistic children, it is a space of responsibility. Every shift becomes an opportunity to measure themselves with the public and organize activities. This is how inclusion takes shape, day after day’.
The top management of Tuttofood also emphasized the importance of the project. Riccardo Caravita, brand manager of the event, defined the presence of PizzAut as the ‘practical translation’ of the ethical principles of the fair, celebrating food not only as a product but as a tool of human dignity.
