Kick-off crowdfunding for Foodu, the first participatory e-commerce

One year after the launch, Foodu relaunches the challenge with a campaign of  equity crowdfundingThe  startup Italian  e-commerce participatory aims to accelerate growth and complete the development of its B2B line.

Foodu, thee-commerce participatory

Foodu is a  startup innovative 100% Italian, precisely from Puglia. In June 2020 it launched the first e-commerce participatory, where it is the  community that proposes and decides what to sell on the platform. With the aim of selecting local, organic and well-made foods.

The selection of products allowed for sale is entrusted to two channels. The first consists of consumers Approvermeaning clients who test the products in preview at discounted prices by evaluating the taste. The second is made up of experts (technologists, nutritionists,  etcetc.), called instead to judge the food based on label, production process, origin of raw materials.

A community growing

In 12 months  Foodu involved over 1,000 people and evaluated more than 22,000 products. The mechanism produces a high level of loyalty.

According to the company',80% of Foodu's customers think the product selection is better than that of other channels, both online and offline, 86% are positively satisfied or extremely satisfied with the service, 93% would recommend Foodu to friends and family'.

Crowdfunding to grow

Phase two  requires concrete support that Foodu seeks through the campaign active since October 21, 2021 on the Mamacrowd platform.

The goal is 'involve new partners with the first equity crowdfunding round, to accelerate growth, expand its presence in the online grocery market, and complete the development of an innovative B2B service line aimed also at supporting producers in a “consumer centric” transformation process: the startup aims to raise a maximum of €300,000, equivalent to 14.2% of the shares'.
