Our dear friend Vito Gulli suddenly left us, with a cough, in his home. With an unmissable tweet. ‘The luck of living in the eastern part of Genoa .. I realized it since I was a child…. not only now that… I turn to desire’.
First supporter of the critical analysis of the food supply chain on this site to which he actively contributed, with rough writings (1,2) and valuable consultation, as well as of the association Égalité and of its project of the smart (wheelchair).
Vito Gulli, humanist entrepreneur
‘Entrepreneur by humanist extraction’ he is famous for having led Generale Conserve S.p.A., known for the ASDOMAR brand, from 2001 to 2017. He has always invested in Made in Italy, its supply chains and its workers, to whom he still dedicates his commitment and free thought. Also in the role of arbitrator of Federalimentare’. No one could describe himself better than him, in his profile on GIFT…
A great example. A great heart driven by genius that allowed him – among many generous charitable activities – to return work to about a hundred workers on furlough and bring to glory a plant destined to close. To locate the entire processing of only whole and sustainable tuna preserves right in Olbia, in beloved Sardinia. (3)
Our Myth, our Vito
We thought you were immortal, like a superhero,
but unfortunately it is not so.
Generous, passionate, dreamer, farsighted, temperamental,
egocentric, but unique in your being.
We all owe you so much, in so many different ways,
we grew up with you and for you.
We will never find a way to thank you,
but you were and will be forever our Myth, our Vito.
You have been our Family and we will be
forever yours.
The employees
Always in our hearts
Always in our hearts you will be, brother. For what remains, there is only to hope that Your star illuminates some thoughtful heads in the years to come. Workers and true and measurable sustainability at the center, emancipation from every public lie and dictatorship (from the current emergency to the MES) and private (unfair commercial practices first of all).
A big hug to Davide, Diego and Laura
