Tastes of Italian artisan ice cream? They are now over 100. Fans of tradition love classic flavours, around twenty in total. But the creative research of the artisans is unlimited. Thus, alongside seasonal fruit, including dried fruit, such as pistachios, walnuts and hazelnuts, which are especially popular in the areas suited to these crops, unusual combinations - very tasty, chocolate and black cherries for example - and experimental proposals are becoming widespread.
Innovative, decidedly unconventional flavours, featuring some Made in Italy excellences, such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Gorgonzola and pecorino. Almost provocative recipes, compared to the sensation expected from tasting an ice cream. Traditionally sweet.
In fact, the lion's share is played by the more traditional flavours. Strawberry and lemon, pistachio, chestnuts and - depending on the season - melon, pear, kiwi, remain at the top of the public's preferences. The same happens for creams. Hazelnut, chocolate, eggnog. Simple flavors that perpetuate the deserved fame of this all-Italian excellence.
