Aromatic plants in the house, fresh herbs all year round
Aromatic plants At home? Nothing better to have the herbs of the Italian tradition available even in the cold months. Easy to grow, “the little herbs” smell like the countryside and give great satisfaction in the kitchen.
All the little plants must be placed near a window, away from radiators or heat sources. To further enhance the garden idea, place them in a wicker or willow basket and the effect is guaranteed.
There are countless varieties of aromatic plants. Among the most used in Italy, it is very easy to grow basil and parsley at home, both small in size. Sage, and more significantly rosemary, are plants that when transplanted into the ground – under ideal conditions – become a fragrant but bulky shrub. To continue growing them in pots, frequent pruning is necessary.
Irrigation, finally, must be carefully dosed. Especially in winter, when plant growth slows down, it could promote the onset of fungal diseases or cause the plant’s death.
