Rosé wine, growing export

Rosé wine sample of export. The affirmation grows and the market share consolidates, today at 10% globally. A Made in Italy specialty showing an export trend capable of increasing twice as fast as other types of Italian wine.

Really “rosy” export, in short, for the delicate rosé, protagonist in some areas of a decisive evolution. Just think of consumption in the United Kingdom, which in the last thirteen months has seen a ten percent increase in rosé sales.  A trend also highlighted by  Jean Marie Aurand, director general of OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), during the last congress, the thirty-eighth, in which it dedicated a specific focus to rosé wine.

Italian production is about six million hectoliters, one less than France, with a domestic demand of one and a half million (out of a total national demand of 20.4). Also in the Bel Paese a strong increase in consumption is expected, as revealed by data collected between January and April 2015, a period in which excellent performances were recorded in 85% of Italian wineries. At the center of attention and this rediscovery especially the pink sparkling wines. And the rosés of the Apulia region.
