Seductive Venere rice in types of cultivation

Venere rice, named due to supposed aphrodisiac properties, one of the types of rice produced and patented in Italy, but originally from China, where at the emperor's court it was called “forbidden” for its nutritional and organoleptic qualities, able to pair well with many recipes.

Venere rice arrived in Italy only in 1997, thanks to the action of SA.PI.SE. (Sardo Piemontese Sementi soc. coop. soc. agricola) and more precisely its research center located in the Philippines. This institute made the Asian variety available, which carefully crossed with a Po Valley rice, gave rise to Venere.

This non-GMO and absolutely non-aphrodisiac variety has rare nutritional virtues capable of providing a significant amount of phosphorus, magnesium, and selenium to our body. Moreover, being one of the excellent semi-whole Italian rice varieties, it can supply 13% of the daily fiber requirement with one dish.

Due to its youth, it lends itself to contemporary culinary preparations. It is often paired with fish and seafood recipes (shrimp and zucchini, shrimp and asparagus are just a few examples). Its use is also renowned in the cosmetic sector, where it finds space in dedicated lines.
