The Gluten-Free Expo

The 2012 Gluten-Free Expo, the first ever dedicated event of its kind, came to a close after an enormous success. The four-day event involved some 7,000 visitors from all over the world, including over 650 professionals, 150 journalists and 53 exhibitors from around Europe.
During the event, expert chef’s were called in to collaborate on creations to show how gluten-free foods are accessible to everyone, and how they are just as good as (and sometimes even better than) the “traditional” foods we eat every day.
The Gluten Free Expo clearly demonstrated that even niche segments, like gluten-free foods, create work for hundreds of companies and thousands of people whose professionalism has brought success. The event also confirmed the food sector as the de facto motor of the Italian economy, particularly in a period such as this one.
In the end, the first edition of the Gluten Free Expo showed itself to be both a winner, as well as a successful initiative for the increasing numbers of consumers who buy and eat gluten-free foods. Plans are already being made for next year’s gluten-free event which will certainly offer new days filled with excitement in November 2013.
