Greener Packaging

It is the launch of packaging with a reduced carbon footprint, but also investments into safety in the workplace, biodiversity guidelines for suppliers, best practices for efficient management of water resources, as well as transport. These are some of the concrete actions coming out of the eco-friendly philosophy of Bonduelle Italy, laid down by the company’s CEO, Umberto Galassini, in a long interview with the on-line daily Distribuzione Moderna. On the sustainable food packaging front, the new package for Agita&Gusta salad was conceived of to reduce greenhouse gas emissions “by 40% compared to the previous version”, Galassini stated. Bonduelle Italy recently inaugurated a forefront energy efficiency facility in San Paolo d’Argon, in the province of Bergamo, which employs 250 people, and is equipped with a local procurement system.
