The official presentation of the 2013 Global Hunger Index will take place Monday Oct. 14 at Italy’s International Political Studies Institute in Milan. The statistical instrument was developed by the International Food Policy Research Institute to gauge hunger and malnutrition in 79 countries. The Global Hunger Index is an annual report that has been translated into Italian since 2008 by the NGOs CESVI and Link 2007, which have organized this year’s local edition.
The GHI 2013 document will be presented simultaneously in Italy, France, Germany, the USA, Belgium and Kenya to address the issue of community resilience in the face of malnourishment. The agenda for the encounter includes speeches from CESVI chairman Giangi Milesi, and Maurizio Martina, undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in charge of Expo 2015.
