Food Safety and Curbing Waste

Food safety and fighting waste are the main issues to be addressed at the Consumers’ Forum to be held on June 7th at Eataly in Rome. The round table will be presented by Giuseppe Mermati, chairman of Consumers’ Forum, and Bruno Gambacorta, the host of Eat Parade, as moderator. The packed agenda will start off with a report from Agostino Macrì, an expert in the field from the National Consumers’ Union. Other participants will include Paolo De Castro, president of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee of the European Parliament, Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, head of Federdistribuzione, in addition to Romano Marabelli, the Ministry of Health public veterinary and food safety chief. Also present, Andrea Giussani of the Food Bank Foundation, Walter Nanni of the Caritas research centre and Sergio Marini, president of Coldiretti.
