Granarolo has chosen the services offered by ToolsGroup to fill in some of the gaps in demand planning, in particular for peripheral warehouses that have a notable impact on the distribution of fresh products. The news was reported in the sector journal Distribuzione Moderna.
The SO99+ solution brought to market by ToolsGroup plans stock levels, as well as services in a vast, complex distribution network that includes six Italian production sites that are able to serve four dislocated distribution platforms more quickly with a large fleet of refrigerated vehicles for some 60,000 points of sale.
ToolsGroup carried out the project for Granarolo over the course of three months with “surprising” results. Stock levels were reduced by more than half, with circulating capital and flow time seeing similar results. Delivery times were also reduced by 50%, increasing notably the freshness of Granarolo products for consumers.
