New Frontier of Italian Quality

Often considered a “new” product for Italian production, the country’s beer has attracted the efforts among a group of young entrepreneurs. In this way the best in Italian sommeliers have brought their experience to the world of beer, causing it to become another Italian product of excellence.

In a difficult market, marked by a drop in consumption, where other countries boast a more internationally recognised tradition, fine quality Italian beer registered new growth in exports (more than 2 million hectolitres, +11.6% on 2010) which pushed production to reach an optimal +4.7% in 2011. Thanks to these positive results, fine Italian beer has managed to guarantee an important level of employment in its 400 breweries (14 of which are at the industrial scale and 2 dedicated to malt). The segment has also made a decisive contribution among products destined to foreign markets.

It is a business which is doing well for the Italian economy, contributing with more than 4 billion euros in tax revenue for the state, and absorbing all the raw materials that domestic agriculture has available, confirming itself as a point of reference for the country.
