Granarolo has launched Granarolo UK, its subsidiary based in Great Britain. The operation was finalized through the company formed with F.lli Bosco Ltd, which has been active on the British market for more than 40 years, specializing in importing and distributing quality Italian food products. It is a strategic alliance meant to take advantage of the well-equipped existing sales network.
The objective is to strengthen the presence of Granarolo in the Italian cheese segment locally. The UK in fact is one of the most important markets for Italian cheeses, worth 117mln euros annually. With its new branch, the group from Emilia Romagna aims at increasing revenue by another 20mln.
Founded in 1957 as Bologna’s milk consortium, Granarolo is a historic example of the economic organization of farmers in Italy, with members committed from “the farm to the fork” in producing, processing and marketing food products.
