The leading Italian tomato growers association Consorzio Casalasco has reached a partnership agreement with ISA (a financial branch of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture) for expanding and strengthening its business strategy in Italy and abroad according to Distribuzione Moderna.
The cooperative, which takes the name of one of the three territories of the province of Cremona, plans to reorganize its fresh tomato processing at facilities located in Fontanellato and Rivarolo del Re.
After a capital contribution worth a total of 12mln euros by the ministerial subsidiary, the Casalasco tomato consortium aims to solidify its patrimony, and implement a development plan in the coming years with investments to widen, strengthen and modernize its production.
The ISA funding was carried out in full respect of the market, and is complete with approval from the European Commission.
