Vinitaly 2014, the largest exhibition devoted to Italian wine, will take place in Verona April 6th through 9th. The 48th edition of the event sold out a month in advance, with a record-breaking 100,000 plus square meter exposition area packed with exhibitors. The increase in size is due to the set up for Vinitaly International, which is to focus on increasing foreign business with operators from around the world in attendance.
Among new additions, there is also the International Buyers’ Lounge, an exclusive space for negotiating and moving merchandise, as well as two other initiatives, Taste and Buy for the B2B wine trade and an enoteca specifically for tasting the wines that producers have selected for the global market. Vinitalybio is yet another novelty this year, dedicated to promoting the products of Italy’s certified organic winemakers.
The most attractive destinations for Italian wine exports continue to be North America, Northern Europe and the Far East.
