New Agreements

The Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti, welcomed the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference to the Chigi Palace during the latter’s recent official state visit to Italy. At the centre of the meeting were new agreements for the strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries, supporting Italian exports to China, increasing bilateral investments and the role of China in new global governance in light of the upcoming XVIII Chinese Communist Party Conference.
The Minister of Economic Development’s visit was yet another confirmation of the reciprocal commitment to foster cooperation, as well as bolster the set of new projects aimed at Italian exports to China for strategic industrial sectors such as energy and the “green” economy. At the end of the meeting a total of six new agreements were signed worth a total value of 1.27 billion US dollars to support export initiatives.
