The Val Venosta organic apple harvest, which began at the beginning of September, holds pleasant surprises. Forecasts pointed to a production volume of some 21,000 tons of apples, with a significant increase over 2012. Nature seems to have satisfied the demand of European consumers, who are showing increasing desire for organic fruit.
In Val Venosta, the area dedicated to these prized apples ranges in altitude from 500 to 1,000 meters, and is characterized by a microclimate that is ideal for this type of fruit. Once again, this year confirms the highest quality.
“The first Val Venosta organic Gala Apples have been on sale since September 10th, and the excellent harvest will allow us to satisfy our clients for the entire year in terms of both quality and quantity,” stated Gerhard Eberhöfer, head of the brand’s organic branch, to Distribuzione Moderna.
