Glyphosate, another 5 years of tolerance. The Berlin zoo
The history of glyphosate in Europe may remind older people of the film 'Cristiana F., we guys from the Berlin zoo'(by Uli Edel, 1981).
The role of young Berlin junkies, in this case, it is interpreted by European farmers. Some of which have hidden their addiction to their parents, that is the national confederations that here and there - as in Ireland, Italy (Confagricoltura and CIA) and Germany - have fought to defend the deadly poison. Without realizing the serious damage done to their own families.
The dark side of the story it is represented by the industry of Evil, which in the Berlin zoo as well as in the Brussels one has had the upper hand in pursuing its shady interests. With the coverage of local administrations, which in both cases have tolerated the spread of toxic substances in parks intended for children. And the endorsement of the policy which in Brussels - through the voice of a Commissioner theoretically deputy to the protection of public health, Vytenis Andriukaitis, - has come to congratulate for the non-prohibition of the evil substance. Authorized in the EU for another 5 years.
To lose, in both cases, are the populations and families forced to see their children intoxicated in the name of the profit of a restricted elite devoid of any scruple. Like the 'Big 6', six o'clock Corporation which control 75% of the global trafficking of agro-toxic and GMOs. BASF, Bayer, Dupont, Dow Chemical Company, Monsanto, and Syngenta.
The complicity does not escape anyone between German politicians and the Bayer group, which recently acquired Monsanto. First owner of the patents on glyphosate, as well as on DDT, Agent Orange e paraquat. (1) And it already invests on a another broad-spectrum poison, dicamba, after having prepared the GMO seeds resistant to it.
Few, however, remember as in 2011, before the glyphosate case reached the attention of mainstream media, the German Federal Risk Assessment Authority (BfR) had blatantly ignored the serious dangers that had emerged in relation to this substance at the time. (2)
Everything was expected, the vicious link between the agro-toxic business (and that of GMOs, functional to it) has been known for decades to those who dare to look beyond the false appearance of higher yields with less use of labor force in traditional agronomic practices.
It remains up to usCitizens, constituents and consumers, do everything possible to spare our children and their offspring from the Berlin Zoo and its toxicities. Which have shown themselves and will replicate, until the fateful 99% will not find the strength to say Enough!
How to raise your voice, that's easy to say. We begin to choose organic foods, and in any case to reward the responsible choices of operators in the industry and large-scale distribution who decide to stand out. Controlled supply chains, integrated agriculture, strict regulations capable of excluding raw materials treated with glyphosate in the post-harvest phase. (3)
Facts and not words we must expect. Also by local governments, which in other areas have been able to impose greater rules for the protection of their citizens and territories.
