Hemp oil, excellent properties
Hemp oil, a condiment obtained by cold pressing of the “Sativa” cannabis seeds, an oil with countless nutritional properties. Discovered recently also by the cosmetic industry, this seed oil has antioxidant, immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties.
Green in color, has an intense flavor of toasted hazelnuts, which is why it is used, even with extra virgin olive oil, for salad dressings and soups.
Using this natural oil within one’s diet means donating to the body a strong supply of amino acids, vitamins (A, E, B1, B2, PP, C), minerals (iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus) and phytosterols. It contains high percentages of gamma linoleic acid and omega 3. The level of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is very low, less than one part per million.
Additional properties of this ancient oil and the hemp seeds themselves have the ability to lower the levels of LDL (or “bad cholesterol”) and to restore the proper balance of lipids and waxy substances when applied to skin.
The cultivation of this plant in Italy is ancient and is associated with the history of the Maritime Republics, which through this oil obtained paint resistant to salt.
