The best for the best fruit

Italy is often referred to as the garden of Europe, and could be defined as its orchard, given that it is the leader in the EU for the production of fresh fruit, which according to estimates accounts for 30% of the total. These are the numbers that give Italian fruit juice producers the opportunity to select, thanks to the generosity of the Mediterranean sun, a great variety of raw materials and to characterize their products for their freshness and taste, as well as for a continuous drive towards innovation in the process.

The landscape of juice producers in Italy is diverse and highly fragmented, with the top three brands accounting for 40% of production, leaving room for smaller competitors to flourish in mass and niche markets, at home and abroad.

Growing diversification pushes Italian juice producers to be flexible and efficient, with time-to-market and distribution becoming key factors in maintaining high quality. Fruit juices follow strict labeling rules on the minimum juice content for each product. The "Fruit juice" must contain 100%, "Freshly squeezed" is used only for that derived from citrus fruits, while "nectar" is the term used for smaller percentages.
