The Italian Solo Exhibition is set to take place in Muscat, Oman, from October 27th to 31st 2013. The event, dedicated to high quality Made in Italy products, is moving itself as the ideal platform for initialising and fostering trade relations between Italy and the Sultanate of Oman.
Oman is considered the “Switzerland of the Persian Gulf”, due to its strategic geographic position and other factors. It is also on the UN list of countries that have seen the most development over the last 40 years, and is one of the most politically stable in the Arab world.
The country is looking to strengthen its small and medium sized enterprises, which today account for roughly 16% of domestic GDP, thanks to a series of measures designed to support economic diversification and growth in job creation. According to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the state is home to some 121,000 SMEs, representing 90% of the businesses aiming at internationalisation.
