Italian dairy producer Latteria Soresina ended 2013 with earnings of 326mln euros (+5% on 2012) with a forecast for 2014 reaching 349mln (+7%). The foundation for this consolidated growth trend is the Cremona, Italy based cooperative, an international leader in the dairy and cheese sector, distinguishes itself in its commitment to training personnel and innovation in its product line.
According to Italian trade journal Distribuzione Moderna, one of the high points for Latteria Soresina are its packaged cheeses, with 18mln units sold in 2013, equaling earnings of over 20mln. 10mln worth of Gran Soresina in 100 gram packages were also bought up, adding up to 12mln. The company also topped sales in Italy with bags of Grana Padano cheese.
With its increased cash flow, Latteria Soresina, which has 520 employees and another 150 people under contract, plans on continuing to invest in the quality of its human resources as it has always done. A solid portion of the 6.2mln currently set aside for near-term investments will be used for its workers professional development.
