Asdomar sustainable and certified fishing

Asdomar is for sustainable tuna fishing techniques, with reduced impact on the ecosystem and which minimize the accidental taking of other species. Asdomar uses only skipjack caught on rod and the mature yellow-fin, fishable solely with seiners in free schools without the use of FADs.

The Fish Aggregating Devices are floating objects that attract fishes in search of food and protection. They maximize yields, but involve unsustainable rates of improper capture of sharks, manta rays, turtles and young tuna. These techniques are enemies of the marine environment and the conservation of tuna stocks, valuable for human nutrition.

Asdomar stigmatizes these techniques. It ensures that its products come from fisheries truly sustainable, led by large and modern vessels with the best systems of freezing needed for the industrial utilization of fish. These choices - described in detail in the attached pdf - are strictly applied and vouched for by third parties.
