Cibus 2016, highlighting TradInnovation
Cibus 2016, from May 9 to 12 in Parma, emphasizes the TradInnovation, as GIFT – Great Italian Food Trade defines the valuable work of revising the tradition and to renew/innovate it with natural ingredients instead of artificial additives, attention to organic food and to the best experience of integrated fight in agriculture, of which Italy is a pioneer.
The appointment with Cibus 2016, a showcase of Italian agribusiness excellence, confirms the trend: the finest productions continue to advance towards quality food and sustainables, becoming lighter thanks to the widespread reformulation to reduce salt, sugar and excess fat – accepting the challenge against the epidemic of obesity and diabetes – without losing sight of prices, that have to remain accessible.
The price’s sustainability is in fact among consumers’ demands, who are very attentive to TradInnovation in the food industry. The IRI survey, conducted at Cibus 2016, reveals an 86% propensity to experimenting with innovative products (it was 62% in 2014), but for the 89% an essential condition is affordability. A large 66% of the Cibus 2016 sample group (it was 63% two years ago) is willing to spend more, but only in exchange for a full satisfaction of expectations.
