SA 8000, the norm of the ethical company

The SA (Social Accountability) 8000 standard is an international standard that guarantees the ethics of the supply chain and production cycles throughout the entire supply chain of a company. It is a voluntary rule, and improves the competitiveness of the company, made immediately recognizable to the market and to the consumer as an ethical activity.

The requirements of the SA 8000 are based on ILO conventions (International Labor Organization), on Universal Declaration of Human Rights UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

An accredited third party carries out the assessment of conformity to the SA 8000 standard, and in the event of a positive outcome issues the certification, according to a mechanism similar to that used for quality management systems (UNI EN ISO 9000, for example).
