Food exports soar

Faced with the contraction of the internal market, writes theHANDLE, in Italy the driving force for exports has a name: food industry.
An export supported above all by non-EU demand which, however, accounts for less than a third of the total cross-border shipments.
ISTAT data on the food industry in Italy, relating to the first five months of 2012, indicate an increase in value of exports by 4,2% on an annual basis, with the prospect, according to ISMEA estimates, of a deceleration in export growth ( + 3,9%).
In short, in Italy, the food industry which is also an authentic flagship in terms of quality, can and must be considered as a huge opportunity for success in the world.
