A Family Business

The history of Agrumi-Gel began in Sicily in the first years of the 1900s from the idea of the great grandfather of the Imbesi family to produce essential oils from citrus during processing, an activity which was originally carried out on-site at the orchards where the fruit was harvested. The small family company first became a modest factory utilising traditional methods, and then moved on to become a larger establishment with the third generation of Imbesi in 1988. After replacing manual production techniques, Agrumi-Gel started using mechanical processes to extract essential oils from citrus, in addition to the juice it has become so well known for. Today, it is one of the most modern citrus transformation facilities in circulation, thanks to the advanced technology that makes it one of the most innovative facilities in Italy.
