Italian Producers Focus on Global Event

The 3rd and 4th of December 2013 is the chance for companies from all over the world that produce sparkling wines, from prosecco to spumante, to gather at Denbies Wine Estate in the hills of Surrey, UK – one of the countries that has shown increasing interest towards Italian wine producers – for the third edition International Sparkling Wine Symposium (ISWS).

The biennial event calls for over 100 delegates and speakers to converge in order to share ideas, new tastes and best practices for the sector. The event is currently in a phase of expansion. In 2011 there were 120 participants, which this year will leap to 180.

Italian sparkling wine will surely be one of the protagonists of the convention, with among important items on the agenda is the presentation of the Franciacorta model. The large enterprise based in Lombardy will tell the story of “the creation of a new luxury sparkling wine brand in the old world”. Meetings between European producers and representatives from emerging markets is also a singular opportunity.
