Focus on Sustainability

Curtiriso has given the go ahead for the second phase of the Percorso Green sustainability project. This next step will see carbon footprints, the measurement of CO2 released during the production chain, printed on its rice packages. The value refers to each individual product, taking into account the entire voyage of the rice, from the field to the consumer’s table.

With this initiative, reported in Distribuzione Moderna, Curti affirms its commitment to sustainability, which it already solidified through the lowering of its CO2 emissions during production, as well as the implementation of renewable energy at its biomass facility.

The company has been in operation since 1875, and is one of the most historic enterprises in the Italian food and agriculture sector. It is also one of Italy’s biggest rice producers, with extended international demand for its products. Since 1994, Curti has been a part of the Euricom Group and has one of the largest rice processing plants in Europe located in Valle Lomellina, one of the Bel Paese’s most important rice growing areas.
